School

At TBI, assessment is a natural, ongoing and important part of daily learning. By questioning and talking to children, listening to the language they use and observing their behaviour, we gain information about children’s levels of skill and understanding. Throughout the academic year, teacher's will observe and record children’s learning and progress.

Kindergarten

At TBI children learn through direct, sensory experience. They need to manipulate, explore and experiment with real objects. They learn by doing, moving and talking.

Young children are naturally curious and eager to learn. They are active learners who learn through variety of means. Children at play are highly motivated and capable of intense concentration.

TBI gives children the opportunity to explore, discover and take responsibility for selecting and completing a variety of activities. In the kindergarten classrooms, children are often invited to share their accomplishments and projects. The program teaches them how to try new things with confidence, creativity and a "can do: attitude". Children become familiar with the expectations of teachers and are motivated and focused to take on new challenges. This provides a learning environment and a variety of age appropriate experiences that will help children develop socially, intellectually, physically and emotionally. This environment will foster self-confidence, spontaneity, curiosity and self-discipline within the development of overall social and emotional well-being.
